Delivery FAQs
Important Delivery Information
Many of the products we supply, including doors, worktops, and associated joinery products, are large, heavy, and susceptible to damage if not handled correctly.
To help ensure a smooth delivery process, please read the following information carefully.
Receiving Your Delivery
It is essential that either you or an authorised representative is available to accept, inspect, and sign for the goods upon delivery.
Before signing for the delivery, please inspect the packaging for any signs of damage. If the packaging appears damaged, we strongly recommend checking the product to ensure the damage has not affected the goods inside.
If any damage is identified upon delivery:
- Do not accept the goods.
- Clearly advise the courier that the goods are damaged.
- Return the goods with the courier immediately.
We also recommend taking photographs of all products upon arrival for your records.
Failure to report visible damage at the point of delivery may affect our ability to process damage claims.
Missed Deliveries
If a delivery has been arranged and confirmed with you, but no one is available to accept the goods when the courier arrives, the goods will not be left unattended.
A re-delivery charge may apply, and a new delivery date will need to be arranged.
Delivery Lead Times
We aim to deliver most standard orders within an estimated 5–10 working days.
Please note:
- All delivery dates and lead times are estimates only and are not guaranteed.
- Lead times may vary depending on stock availability, supplier lead times, manufacturing schedules, courier availability, and delivery location.
- As we are based in Sheffield, some locations may require additional transit time.
If you require clarification regarding current lead times, please contact us before placing your order.
Definition of an Estimated Lead Time
An estimated lead time is an approximate timeframe provided in good faith and should not be considered a guaranteed delivery date.
Door Storage Following Delivery
During transportation, doors may be carried flat, upright, or on their sides. This is acceptable for transit purposes only.
Immediately upon delivery, doors should:
- Be inspected for damage or defects.
- Be removed from all packaging.
- Be stored flat in a dry indoor environment.
- Be allowed to acclimatise before installation in accordance with our Storage & Treatment Guidelines.
Failure to correctly store and acclimatise doors may result in twisting, bowing, warping, or other issues associated with natural timber products.
Extended Lead Times
Delivery times may be longer in certain circumstances, including:
- Remote delivery locations
- Supplier delays
- Manufacturing schedules
- High seasonal demand
- Courier capacity limitations
Where known, we will make you aware of any extended lead times at the point of ordering.
We use specialist door couriers wherever possible to minimise the risk of transit damage.
Bespoke & Made-to-Order Products
Bespoke, made-to-order, modified, or special-order products may have longer lead times than standard stock items.
Please note:
- All dates provided are estimated and may change.
- Lead times are often supplied by third-party manufacturers and are outside the control of Doors & Floors Galore.
- Bespoke and made-to-order products are non-returnable and non-refundable unless faulty.
- The relevant manufacturer or brand will be clearly identified on the product listing where applicable.
- Products may be manufactured in the UK or overseas, which can affect lead times.
As delivery dates for bespoke products are estimates only, compensation, discounts, refunds, or consequential loss claims will not be accepted for delays outside of our reasonable control.
By placing an order and accepting our Terms & Conditions, you acknowledge and accept that estimated lead times may change.
If your project is dependent on building control approval, renovation schedules, or contractor availability, we strongly recommend making temporary arrangements and not relying solely upon estimated delivery dates.
Once bespoke products arrive at Doors & Floors Galore, we will arrange delivery at the earliest available opportunity.
Returns & Collection Costs
Return collection charges are often higher than standard delivery charges because specialist handling, inspection procedures, and insurance cover are required to protect the full retail value of the goods during transit.
Delivery Method
Curbside Delivery Only
All deliveries are made on a curbside delivery basis unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Couriers are not required to move goods into the property, upstairs, through restricted access points, or into specific rooms.
Customers are responsible for ensuring that adequate assistance is available to safely move and store the goods once delivered.
